History Channel’s Vikings centers around Ragnar Lothbrok, played by Australian actor and model, Travis Fimmel. Ragnar is believed to be a descendant of the god Odin.
In Season 1 we find Ragnar as a simple farmer who has a grand plan of heading West during the summer raids rather than East like the Earl Haraldson has decreed. Thanks to his ship making friend, Floki, Ragnar is able to go West against the Earl’s orders. They manage to find England and riches untold. Needless to say the Earl is not impressed. By the end of Season 1 Ragnar has managed to usurp Earl Haraldson and rise to the position of Earl of Kattegat himself.
In Season 2, Ragnar finds himself involved in much treachery. Not only battling with his current wife, Lagertha, and his mistress, Princess Aslaug, he also has the betrayal Rollo deals him. In the midst of all this, Ragnar is still raiding and negotiating with the kings of England as well as the king of his own lands. By the close of this season we find Ragnar as the new viking leader.
